Federal Government release 75 billion Naira for Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), unveils registration portal.


The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the registration Portal for  Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF). The motive of this fund is to boast Nigerian economy by giving out finance to  youths who are desirous to unleash their entrepreneurial prowess and able to run a business in Nigeria.

Youths qualified to obtain this funds must be between the ages of 18-35, have business operational in Nigeria, has not been convicted of any financial crime, have a valid BVN and must possess valid Local Government Identification certificate. 

The amount  disbursed for the program cost N 75,000,000,000 (seventy five billion naira) and would be given annually from 2020-2023 .




According to Naira metrics, The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development flagged off the application that was recently approved by the  Federal Government on October 15, 2020. 

The Minister of Youths and Sports Mr Sunday Dare, said the idea was an initiative of the ministry and would be funded by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The minister also noted that the loan has an interest rate of 5% per annum and would be paid back 
in 5 years.
